Final Fantasy 14 Update Completes Dawntrail Relic Quests and Adds New Content
Final Fantasy 14 Patch 7.5 is officially set to launch on April 28, 2026, bringing the final major update for the Dawntrail expansion before the next chapter begins. Titled Trail to the Heaven, the update introduces new Main Scenario Quests, a brand-new dungeon, Alliance Raid, Trial, PvP content, and the long-awaited Beastmaster limited job. Square Enix also confirmed that the story will continue through Patch 7.56, scheduled for early September 2026.
New Story, Battle Content and Beastmaster Take Centre Stage
Patch 7.5 takes players back to Garlemald through a new dungeon called The Clyteum, while the Main Scenario also returns adventurers to the Moon. The update introduces a new Trial against Enuo, available in both Normal and Extreme difficulties, alongside Shinryu (Unreal). The final chapter of the Echoes of Vana’diel Alliance Raid series, Windurst: The Third Walk, concludes the Final Fantasy XI crossover storyline.
One of the biggest additions is the arrival of Beastmaster, a new limited job coming later in the 7.5x patch cycle. Players who own Dawntrail, have completed A Realm Reborn, and possess a level 50 combat job will be able to unlock it. Beastmasters can tame up to 50 different monsters, summon them during battle, and progress through a new solo activity called Crucible of the Unbroken. The job introduces unique combat mechanics, including monster companions, Battlehorn loadouts and attacks based on Instinct.
More PvP, Housing and Quality-of-Life Improvements
Patch 7.5 also expands side activities with Occult Crescent: North Horn, a new exploration zone featuring Forked Tower: Magic, which supports both Normal and Extreme difficulties for groups of varying sizes. PvP players will have Series 11 and a new Crystalline Conflict arena to play in, called Archeia Harmonias. The new arena has a library combat theme, and offers different line-of-sight mechanics.
Outside of combat, Square Enix is adding a number of quality of life improvements. Housing limits are increasing significantly, with large homes expanding from 400 to 600 indoor furnishings, while outdoor placement limits are also being raised. The Armoire will support more equipment storage, the dye system is being overhauled to reduce inventory clutter, and crafting will become more convenient through additional interface improvements. Patch 7.51 is expected in early June, Patch 7.55 in late July, and Patch 7.56 in early September, completing the Dawntrail update cycle and paving the way for Final Fantasy XIV’s next expansion.
