Sony RX10 V Brings Major Camera Upgrades With a Premium $2,299 Price Tag
Sony RX10 V – Sony has officially revived its popular RX10 bridge-camera series with the RX10 V, nearly nine years after the previous generation arrived. We’ve developed a new all-in-one camera for travel, wildlife, bird photography and sports, offering a long fixed zoom lens, faster shooting and modern AI-powered features. The RX10 V will retail for $2,299.99 in the US and will be released in August of 2026.

The RX10 V retains the versatile 24-600mm equivalent ZEISS Vario-Sonnar T* lens, with a 25x optical zoom and f/2.4-4 aperture range. It has a 20.1-megapixel, 1-inch-type stacked sensor behind the lens. The camera can shoot continuously at up to 30 frames per second without viewfinder blackout, making it significantly faster than the previous RX10 IV and of particular use when photographing action, sport and wildlife.
Sony’s latest tech powers AI Autofocus
Sony says the RX10 V has a much more sophisticated autofocus system designed to recognise and track different types of subjects. The camera can identify people, animals, birds, insects, cars, trains and aeroplanes. Its subject-detection system is built to focus even when things are moving unpredictably, and the fast burst rate makes it easier to capture short moments that might otherwise be missed.
A Big Improvement in Video Performance
The RX10 V is also a much better video camera. It also shoots full-width 4K at up to 60 frames per second and 4K at up to 120 frames per second with a crop. The camera also includes pro-oriented features such as S-Log3 and S-Cinetone. These upgrades make the RX10 V more compelling for people who want to shoot both high-quality still photos and advanced video with one device.
More shooting endurance with larger battery
Another major upgrade is the use of Sony’s bigger NP-FZ100 battery, which is used on the company’s Alpha camera series. When using the rear screen the RX10 V is rated for around 630 still images on a charge. The new body is also dust and moisture resistant, and it has a control layout inspired by Sony’s Alpha cameras, making the bridge camera feel more familiar to Sony users.
