Motorola Edge 70 Max Leak Reveals Built In Magnetic Charging Ahead of Official Launch

Motorola’s upcoming Edge 70 Max could be one of the company’s more interesting premium Android phones, particularly as recent certification info points to native magnetic wireless charging. The device showed up in the records of the Wireless Power Consortium , with support for Qi2.2.1 and the Magnetic Power Profile. That combo is a good sign of built-in alignment magnets and wireless charging speeds of up to 25W, which could allow magnetic chargers and compatible accessories to snap directly onto the phone without the need for a special magnetic case.

Qi2 25W May Be the Biggest Leap

The Qi2 25W is a massive upgrade over the original 15W version of the magnetic charging standard. The Wireless Power Consortium says the newer system provides about 70 percent more charging power and maintains magnetic alignment for better placement between the phone and the charger. For the Edge 70 Max, native support could mean faster charging, as well as easier use of magnetic charging stands, car mounts, battery packs and other accessories.

Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 Might Deliver Flagship Performance

Previous leaks have suggested the Motorola Edge 70 Max could be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 processor. The device is also rumoured to sport a flat AMOLED display with super thin bezels, a more durable build, and a more ambitious rear camera system that could feature dedicated zoom hardware. Exact battery capacity, memory configurations and full camera specs are still unknown, so those details should still be considered unconfirmed until Motorola formally introduces the device.

Qira AI Might Be an Important Part of the Experience

Motorola’s upcoming premium phones are also rumoured to focus more on artificial intelligence. Motorola and Lenovo have launched Qira, an AI cross-device system that maintains context and continuity between devices. Recent Edge 70 Max leaks have hinted at Qira-related features, indicating the phone could leverage AI for productivity, communication, editing and personalised assistance. However, Motorola has not yet confirmed the full list of software features on the Edge 70 Max.
