Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 8 Could Become the Last Flip Phone Samsung Ever Makes
Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 8 – A new leak suggests Samsung may be ending its long-running clamshell foldable series with its next Galaxy Z Flip 8. Well-known tipster Ice Universe said the Galaxy Z Flip 8 is probably Samsung’s last “small folding product.” The wording is somewhat ambiguous, and Samsung has not said it will phase out the Galaxy Z Flip family. This could be the last Flip 8 for now so we should take this as an unconfirmed rumour rather than an official decision.
Samsung Is Preparing for Its Next Big Foldable Launch
Samsung has announced its next Galaxy Unpacked event for July 22, 2026, in London. The company is promoting the event under the theme “A New Shape Unfolds,” and says it will introduce new additions to the Galaxy portfolio that continue its foldable-device legacy. Samsung hasn’t officially announced the Galaxy Z Flip 8 in the invitation, but the device is widely expected to make an appearance alongside other new foldable products.
Leaked Renders Reveal Familiar Flip Design
Recent official-looking renders of the Galaxy Z Flip 8 show Samsung sticking with the same clamshell design as the current generation. The leaked shots show a big external display around the rear cameras, along with a number of colour options. However, the new model appears to be less about a completely new design, and more about making refinements, which could be things like internal hardware improvements and smaller tweaks to the overall body.

Rumours have suggested that the Galaxy Z Flip 8 could pack a 6.9-inch main display and a 4.1-inch external screen, both of which could support refresh rates up to 120Hz. Other specs listed include 12GB of RAM, 256GB and 512GB of storage, a 50-megapixel main camera, a 12-megapixel ultrawide camera and a 4,300mAh battery. These specifications are not official and may change before Samsung makes the final device official.
Different Processors for Different Markets
Another rumour suggests Samsung could go back to a regional processor strategy for the Galaxy Z Flip 8. Some markets will get a model powered by Samsung’s Exynos 2600, while others, perhaps including the US, will get a Qualcomm Snapdragon powered model. This would help Samsung control production costs and the availability of chips, but the company has not officially said what the ultimate processor configuration will be.
