Google has announced its next hardware event, Made by Google, will be held in New York City on October 12, 2023. The presentation starts at 6 p.m. Eastern Time. Google’s invite teases the “next generation of Pixel.” The company has not yet publicly detailed all of the devices that will be appearing but timing and current reporting point strongly to the Pixel 11 family as the main attraction. This year’s Pixel 10 event is a week earlier than last year’s.

The Pixel 11 family is expected to include the base Pixel 11, Pixel 11 Pro, Pixel 11 Pro XL and the Pixel 11 Pro Fold. The event teaser also seems to show a shiny gold-colored metal frame, suggesting at least one new premium colour could arrive this year.
Google Is Moving Faster Than Last Year
Google’s now-standard practice of launching flagship Pixel hardware ahead of the typical fall smartphone release cycle remains the case with the August 12 event. Made by Google last year was on August 20, so the 2026 presentation is eight days earlier. An earlier announcement would give Google more time to market its phones ahead of Apple’s expected iPhone launch cycle in September, and could help the company to start sales earlier. The Pixel 11 series’ retail release date has yet to be officially confirmed.
Tensor G6 Might Be a big internal upgrade
Among the most closely tracked rumoured upgrades is Google’s next Tensor G6 processor. Hints suggest that the new chip could be produced using an advanced manufacturing process that might boost performance, but final specifications have not yet been confirmed. One area to watch will be processor efficiency and thermal performance at the event, as the Pixel 11 series is expected to lean heavily on AI-powered software, camera processing, and on-device intelligence.
