PlayStation Plus Will Remove 9 Popular Games From the Service in August
PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium subscribers have until August 18, 2026 to play nine games before Sony removes them from the Game Catalog. The latest update to the “Last Chance to Play” section reveals that popular titles like Dead Island 2, Unicorn Overlord, Earth Defense Force 6, Harold Halibut, Clash: Artifacts of Chaos, Röki, Onee Chanbara Origin, Bomber Crew, and Space Crew: Legendary Edition will no longer be part of the subscription after the August catalog refresh. Once removed, players will need to purchase the games separately to continue playing unless Sony adds them back in the future.

Of the titles departing, Dead Island 2 is arguably the biggest loss for subscribers. The zombie action game includes first-person combat throughout a quarantined Los Angeles, a variety of playable characters and an extensive weapon modification system. Unicorn Overlord, another major departure from Vanillaware’s acclaimed tactical RPG published by Atlus, has become the studio’s fastest-selling game.
