Crimson Desert Update Adds New Armor and Character Features Ahead of Launch
Crimson Desert just dropped Patch 1.13.00, and honestly, it is one of the biggest updates since the game launched on March 19, 2026. Developer Pearl Abyss really listened to the community this time. The game feels so much more open now because you are no longer forced to use just Kliff in the Abyss—Oongka and Damiane can finally enter too! Alongside this massive change, the patch brings fresh equipment, new crafting recipes, smoother exploration, and a bunch of performance fixes across all consoles and PC to make your adventure much more enjoyable.
New Character, Exploration, and Gameplay Features
This update totally changes how you experience Crimson Desert. Letting Oongka and Damiane jump into the Abyss is a game-changer, giving you way more freedom to play as your favorite character. To match this, they have moved around the Memory Fragments for replayable bosses like Goyen, Draven the Crowcaller, Corrupted Caliburn, and Clockwork White Horn.
Loot lovers have a lot to look forward to! Oongka just got 39 new pieces of gear, including cool boss armor, while Damiane snagged eight new armor choices. Plus, both Kliff and Oongka can now rock Kuku gear for elemental resistance. You can earn all of this through regular quests and shops.
Getting around the massive map is also a breeze now. The developers added new Abyss Nexus fast-travel points across cities and camps. The best part? You can fast-travel even if you are riding a mount, swimming, climbing, or falling! Your map now auto-tracks open chests, fully explored caves, and mineral deposits. They even reduced the stamina drain for gliding so you can fly longer distances.
Performance Upgrades, Bug Fixes, and Future Support
Beyond the fun new content, Patch 1.13.00 packs in some amazing quality-of-life updates. Want a cleaner screen? You can now hide the minimap and UI. It’s also incredibly cute that your pets will now rest right beside you when you sleep.
Inventory management finally makes sense. You now start with 50 slots, can sort items with new category tabs, and can expand your Greymane Camp storage all the way to 1,000 slots! Housing got some love too, with extra storage furniture and new home styles.
Combat feels much smoother now, with better targeting and improved jump attacks. You can even shoot muskets and pistols while sliding! They have also added Easy, Normal, and Hard difficulty modes—just watch out for Hard mode, as bosses have nasty new attack patterns.
Finally, the game just runs better. Say goodbye to annoying PS5 cutscene stutters, crazy long load times, and map crashes. With over 5 million copies sold, Pearl Abyss promises even more updates soon, including full Boss Rematches and the new Re-blockade system.
