PlayStation Plus Premium July 2026 Free Game Reportedly Revealed Before Sony’s Announcement
PlayStation Plus Premium July 2026 has its first confirmed game, with Sony announcing that Psi-Ops: The Mindgate Conspiracy will join the PS Plus Premium Classics catalog for PS5 and PS4. The PS2 action-adventure shooter was revealed during June’s PlayStation State of Play presentation and is currently the only confirmed Premium Classic title for July. Based on Sony’s recent release pattern, it is also expected to be the only Classic game added this month.
Release Date, Lineup Announcement and Schedule
Psi-Ops: The Mindgate Conspiracy is expected to launch on Tuesday, July 21, 2026, alongside the rest of the July PS Plus Extra and Premium catalog additions. Before that, Sony is expected to officially reveal the complete PS Plus Extra and Premium July 2026 lineup on Wednesday, July 15, 2026, at 8:30 AM PT / 11:30 AM ET.
Sony is currently testing a staggered PS Plus catalog rollout in the United States, United Kingdom, and Japan, meaning those regions could receive updates on different dates from the rest of the world. However, reports suggest Psi-Ops is still likely to release simultaneously worldwide because only one Premium Classic title is being added. The previous month’s Classic title also launched on the same day across all regions despite the ongoing rollout experiment.
Meanwhile, the July PS Plus Essential games are already available for subscribers to claim until August 4, 2026. This month’s Essential lineup includes For The King 2, CrossCode, and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3.

Originally released in 2004 for the PlayStation 2, Xbox, and PC, Psi-Ops: The Mindgate Conspiracy follows government operative Nick Scryer, who wakes up with no memory and must stop a terrorist organization searching for a powerful artifact. Players use psychic abilities including telekinesis, mind control, and pyrokinesis, while combining stealth, environmental puzzles, and traditional gunplay to complete missions.
The game received strong reviews at launch, with IGN awarding it 8.5/10 for its creative psychic mechanics and flexible combat system, while criticizing its relatively short campaign and a few confusing design choices. It also earned 84/100 on Metacritic for both the PS2 and Xbox versions. Sony has confirmed that Psi-Ops will also be available as a standalone purchase on the PlayStation Store, allowing players to buy the game even without a PS Plus Premium subscription.
