Redmi K90 Ultra Leak Reveals Snapdragon 8 Elite Chip and 165Hz Display

Redmi K90 Ultra With Snapdragon 8 Elite, Active Cooling Fan, 8550mAh Battery Launched. In October 2025, Xiaomi unveiled the Redmi K90 series, comprising the Redmi K90 and the Redmi K90 Pro Max. The company now has a new performance-oriented model in its flagship smartphone series, the Redmi K90 Ultra.

The Redmi K90 Ultra is a gaming set primarily. It sports Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite processor, a dedicated graphics processor, a high-refresh-rate AMOLED display and an active fan-based cooling system.

Design & Display

The Redmi K90 Ultra features a large, 6.83-inch flat AMOLED display with a resolution of 2,772 × 1,280 pixels, or 1.5K resolution. The display has a 165Hz refresh rate, which should make animations, scrolling, and gameplay smoother.

The smartphone has a Xiaomi M10 display panel that can reach a peak brightness level of 3,500 nits. The high brightness level is intended for better visibility outdoors in bright sun. It also features DC dimming and an ultra-fast touch response rate that helps to cut down the input lag during competitive gaming sessions.

Gaming and performance features

The Redmi K90 Ultra is powered by the Qualcomm 3nm Snapdragon 8 Elite mobile platform. It is accompanied by up to 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM and up to 512GB of UFS 4.1 internal storage.

On top of the snapdragon chipset, Xiaomi has also added a dedicated graphics chip D2. The dedicated graphics processor is designed to assist visual processing for games and assist frame stability during demanding gameplay.

The biggest USP of the smartphone is the integrated active-cooling system. Unlike other passive cooling solutions, the Redmi K90 Ultra is fitted with an integrated 18.1mm cooling fan to help keep the temperature down internally.

The information available allows the fan to operate at approx 32dB noise level. The single fan module also has its own IPX8 and IPX9 water resistance ratings, adding extra protection to the active cooling hardware.

Camera Specification

The Redmi K90 Ultra has a dual camera on the back for shooting photos. The primary camera is a 50-megapixel 1/1.55-inch sensor and is accompanied by OIS or optical image stabilisation for enhanced image stability and better low-light photography.

Besides the main camera, it also comes equipped with an 8-megapixel ultra-wide camera for broader shots. The front has a 20-megapixel camera for video calls and selfies.

The Redmi K90 Ultra is definitely more performance and gaming oriented than camera versatility, but it should still offer a decent everyday photography experience thanks to its main sensor and OIS support.

Charging & Battery Life

Another highlight of the Redmi K90 Ultra is its humongous 8,550mAh battery. The huge battery capacity is designed to enable longer gaming sessions and longer daily use without needing to charge.

The phone supports 100W wired fast charging for its huge battery. It also has 22.5W reverse charging so you can use it to power compatible accessories or other devices.

Redmi’s bypass charging technology for longer gaming sessions is also available. This feature enables the phone to power it’s internal components directly from the charger, leaving the battery in a minimal role. In the long run, it can also help you reduce the amount of heat generated during long gaming sessions and unnecessary wear on the battery.

Software, audio, durability

The Redmi K90 Ultra is powered by Android 16-based HyperOS 3. It comes with dual stereo speakers symmetrically placed and tuned by Bose for an enhanced gaming and multimedia experience.

It is also resistant to dust and water with IP66, IP68 and IP69 certifications. These certifications offer protection against dust, water submersion and high pressure water under specified test conditions.
