The same payment date applies to people who receive both Social Security retirement payments and Supplemental Security Income (SSI). August 1 comes on a Saturday, thus SSI recipients already received their August payout Friday, July 31. Why the August Schedule is Different
For some beneficiaries, July can bring two SSI payments. This is not an additional monthly benefit. Instead, the second payment for July was paid early for August, as the typical payment date fell on a weekend. So SSI claimants will not be getting another separate SSI payment in August.
