PlayStation Plus August 2026 Lineup Gets Stronger With One Major Game Already Confirmed

The first confirmed game for the PlayStation Plus August 2026 lineup has been revealed. Sony has announced that Big Walk will be a day-one release for the PS Plus Essential service on 4 August 2026. The upcoming cooperative adventure game from House House, the developers behind Untitled Goose Game and Push Me Pull You, will be available for subscribers on the same day it launches. Sony is expected to reveal the remaining August 2026 PS Plus Essential games on 29 July 2026, completing the monthly lineup for PlayStation users.

Big Walk is more of a cooperative exploration game than a traditional competitive game. Players will enter a big open world where they have to work as a team and communicate and problem solve to get to the next level. There are environmental puzzles, challenges and a myriad of tools to keep players engaged throughout their journey in the game. Sometimes players have to get creative with how they communicate with each other, which makes the multiplayer experience unique in and of itself.

“Big Walk is meant to be played with your friends over multiple sessions, not random matchmaking,” the developers say. The goal is to establish a shared experience where players can explore, accomplish objectives and learn teamwork skills together. It also offers cross-play, which allows players on PlayStation to connect with users on Windows PC, Mac and the Nintendo Switch.2

Sony Prioritizes Multiplayer With PS Plus Titles

Big Walk’s presence is a sign of how much Sony is prioritizing co-op and multiplayer experiences on its PlayStation Plus subscription service. Sony has been adding games that push for continued engagement and social interaction among subscribers, rather than just focusing on big single-player games.

Before the August lineup arrives, PlayStation Plus members can still claim the July 2026 Essential games until 3 August 2026. The current monthly selection includes Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III, For the King II, and CrossCode. These titles remain available to subscribers before being replaced by the August offerings.

PlayStation Plus Essential is Sony’s entry-level subscription tier, providing online multiplayer access, monthly PS4 and PS5 games, cloud storage, and PlayStation Store discounts. The service currently costs $10.99 per month, $27.99 for three months, or $79.99 annually after Sony’s 2026 price adjustment.

With Big Walk arriving as a day-one addition, Sony is giving subscribers an early look at its August 2026 plans. The final lineup announcement will determine whether the month delivers more major releases alongside House House’s cooperative adventure.
