Palworld 1.0 Release Date New Features Trailer and Everything Players Need to Know

Palworld 1.0 Release: The game has now officially launched! After a long journey in Early Access that started in January 2024. Developer Pocketpair calls Version 1.0 the biggest overhaul in the game’s history, introducing the long-awaited World Tree, new Sky Islands, PvP, a progression overhaul, and dozens of gameplay improvements. Existing Early Access owners receive the update for free across PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Mac, and Microsoft Store versions.

World Tree, New Pals, and Major Gameplay Upgrades

The biggest addition is the World Tree, which was previously hidden behind an energy barrier and now serves as the conclusion of Palworld’s first major story arc. Players can also venture to floating Sky Islands, opening up new environments, dungeons, and vertical exploration based on huge aerial worlds.

Version 1.0 will get the largest batch of new Pals in a single update including the likes of Sky Dragon, Sword Eel, Tree Guardian, Giant Whale, and a handful of other new companions teased in the launch trailer. Tower Bosses have been overhauled with new multi-phase battles and mechanics, and the new Genetic Recombination system lets players breed stronger Pals with special inherited traits.

The update also expands base-building with offshore construction, additional decorations, Paint Mode, and improved automation. A new Wing Pack equipment item lets players glide and fight in the air without using one of their Pal slots, making exploration of the Sky Islands much easier.

Cross-Play, Progression Changes, and 40 Million Players

Palworld 1.0 supports full cross-play between PC, PlayStation, and Xbox platforms with feature parity across all supported versions. Pocketpair has also introduced Server Clustering to create larger multiplayer worlds where players encounter each other more frequently.

The studio recommends starting a new save to experience the redesigned progression system, although existing save files remain fully compatible and progress carries over automatically. PC players will need at least 40 GB of SSD storage, with the recommended specifications including an RTX 2070 GPU and 32 GB of RAM.

The launch comes as Palworld surpasses 40 million players worldwide across Steam, Xbox Game Pass, PlayStation, and Xbox consoles. While the main story reaches its conclusion in Version 1.0, Pocketpair has confirmed that content updates will continue beyond the full release, with additional features and hidden content waiting for players to discover.
